WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES®
Beacon Center's 9th Annual WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® will look a little different this year.
It will be a virtual event extended over 8 days of awesomeness!
Here's how it works:
-
Register--Opens in April; you'll be able to find registration forms and team toolkits on our website or Facebook event page.
-
Decide if you want to walk alone or with a team. If walking with a team, start recruiting your people, have them register as well, and download a team toolkit! See toolkit for further directions about teams.
-
"I Walk Because" print-out signs will be available to download and print for you to use if you choose to take a picture of yourself "walking a mile in her shoes" to create awareness for those impacted by sexual violence.
-
Throughout the WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® week (April 23-30, 2021), let us know you walked by sending a photo in your event t-shirt or team outfits. They will be posted to Beacon Center social media to show your support to our community.
-
Also, throughout WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® week, other activities and challenges will be posted on social media.
The WHY!
Beacon Center hosts a WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® to end rape, sexual assault, and gender violence while raising funds to continue supporting our clients. We ask the community to participate to show their support for Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month. Everyone knows someone who has experienced rape, sexual assault, and gender violence--this event allows you to walk and show support for those people. Join us to honor them and to help raise funds for victims and survivors.
